Sleep Appliances
Often times your dentist may see signs of obstruction or interruptions in your sleep during the oral exam, or patient interview. This is directly linked to Heart Disease and even heart attacks. We care about your teeth a whole lot, but when it comes to your heart, we don’t want to mess around!

When it comes to sleep apnea, all suspected airway issues are assumed until proven otherwise with a sleep study.
It is recommended if an airway obstruction is suspected, that you undergo a sleep study with a physician. After the results of the study are reviewed, your dentist can work with your physician to determine if a dental sleep device or a CPAP may be appropriate. This is part of us being more than a tooth Dr. but an overall health advocate.
Breathing issues can lead to acid reflux, dry mouth, high blood pressure, fatigue, depression, decreased work performance, clenching and grinding of your teeth, snoring, irritability etc. We screen all patients and recommend any patient with red flags to consider a sleep study with our take home 24 hour testing device.
